Shipping policy

If you live more than 100 miles from Vista, California we recommend you use PRIORITY mail. Ground Advantage is cheaper and can arrive in the same time as priority but often takes up to twice as long. It can detrimental to your plant's health to be in a package for that long. We recommend choosing priority mail to ensure a shorter transit time.

All plants are shipped semi-bare root unless otherwise specified. Flower stalks may be removed prior to shipping. Some plants appear as clusters when planted however when they are unpotted are actually multiple plants.

We only ship orders on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Payments made after 5pm on Tuesdays are shipped the following week.

I will delay shipping on PAID orders at the buyer's request for a maximum of 5 business days.  Buyers may extend storage on their PAID orders for a fee of $5 per day.

SAN DIEGO and RIVERSIDE county residents ONLY are welcome to pick up their orders.

Pick up appointments are set individually.

Email info@thisdoesntsucculent.com to schedule a pick up appointment.

Pick up orders must be picked up within 5 days from ordering or be subject to a storage fee of $5/day.

If you need a heat pack you must select it from the products list and add it to your order. Any orders with heat packs require a larger box and weigh 9 oz more. Both of these factors increase your shipping cost.

NOTE: certain varieties including but not limited to kalanchoe rhombopilosa and sedum donkey tail will drop leaves in transit, aeonium and greenovia can easily experience bruising during transit. These bruises appear as black marks and are merely cosmetic.  They do not impair the health of the plant. While dormant it is normal for both greenovia and aeonium to have dry leaves or shed leaves.

Orostachys iwarnege Chinese duncecaps will arrive wilted after even a brief time in transit.  Promptly plant in well draining, gritty soil mix, give water, and they will recover within about a week.

Some plants can shed leaves or drop arms/pieces during shipment.

There is inherent risk when purchasing cuttings. Succulents with no root systems, especially aeonium, can die before growing new roots. We ensure we only sell healthy cuttings that are packaged with no evidence of rot.

Grafted plants can detach from the graft in transit. Nearly all plants can grow roots once detached from the graft with the exception of moon cactus. If your moon cactus has detached in transit please contact me within 48 hours of opening your box with pictures of the box and plant.

We make every effort to have your plants arrive beautiful and healthy. Leaves and small pieces from clusters can detach even with the most careful packing.

It is common for some varieties to drop leaves during shipment including, but not limited to, cotyledon pendens, cotyledon orbiculata, kalanchoe tormentosa 'bear paws', sedum morganianum, sedum burrito.

Extended transit times (more than 4 days) will lead to some etoliation or light seeking in the plants. This is normal since the box is dark. Simply acclimate to full sun gradually to restore normal coloring. Avoid midday sun exposure until acclimated to prevent sunburn.
